Permutatude / Self is a self-portrait composed of a CAT scan (Computerised Axial Tomography) and a photograph I took in the early morning of 1 January 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall and New Year’s Eve at the Brandenburg Gate. Shortly after I returned to the hotel, around dawn, the whites of both of my eyes began to fill with blood, a condition medically called subconjunctival hemorrhages.  Read more…
