Sher Doruff has been working in the visual and performance-based collaborative arts in a variety of capacities since the 1970’s. She studied Fine Arts and was a practicing musician/ composer and scenographer in Chicago and New York. In the late 80’s-00’s her practice incorporated digital technologies in Live Art contexts. She received her PhD in 2006 from University of the Arts London/Central Saint Martins/SMARTlab. Currently she is a senior researcher at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art and Design, Amsterdam and tutors in the Master of Choreography and Master of Artistic Research programmes at the Amsterdam School of the Arts, Royal Academy of Fine Art in the Hague and the University of Amsterdam and additionally is Adjunct Faculty at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). She sits on the editorial boards of Inflexions Journal of Research Creation, Fibreculture Journal, and RTRSRCH and has published numerous papers in academic and artistic contexts.
