Research Group Leader: Haptics & Robotics/HCI
Dr Brian Duffy has been leading the Haptics & Robotics/HCI Research Group for SMARTlab since he first worked as co-PI with Lizbeth on the InterFACES Project (Dublin, New York, Singapore, London) in 2005. He is also senior engineer at SAP and has been actively involved in research in many international academic and non-academic institutions throughout Europe in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence and haptics for over fourteen years. Brian is a Research Engineer at the Institut Eurecom, Sophia Antipolis, France.
Previously, Brian conducted postdoctoral research at University College Dublin (UCD), directed the Anthropos Group at Media Lab Europe, and research for GMD, Germany and INSA de Lyon, France. Brian has a Masters of Engineering Science, a Bachelor of Science in Production Engineering, is a member of the IEEE, a Chartered Engineer, and holds the Eur.Ing qualification.
