Dance-Ability-TeamFree Inclusive Dance Workshops in collaboration with SMARTlab, ARC, Fluxusdance and the UCD Dance Society

Join Ireland’s foremost inclusive dance educator Cathy O’ Kennedy of Fluxusdance and Counterbalance in a series of Inclusive Dance Workshops at UCD this summer!

Starting: Monday June 10th

Where: UCD Dance Studio, UCD Sports and Fitness Centre, Belfied Dublin 4

Time: 11 – 1pm each Monday

Inclusive Dance is a Creative Contemporary Dance Experience open to people with and without disabilities. The process is based on established principals and best practice in the field. The work explores Time, Space and Effort using Rudolph Laban’s theories and principals of movements and responds directly to the input of the participants. The primary focus is on Dance-Making and Choreography. The workshops also offer participants an opportunity to explore New Technologies with SMARTlab, working with Motion-Capture Techniques which integrate technology and movement, designed to deliver best practice in the field of inclusive dance and digital arts practice.

The project brings together a team from SMARTlab, the Applied Research Centre (ARC) at UCD and Fluxusdance to create a unique collaboration with UCD’s Dance Society. The project is supported by Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown County Council Arts Office and Sports Partnership and we guarantee the experience will be creative, challenging, enjoyable and inspiring.
